My site has nothing to do with a salted, smoked fish. It does, however, relate to definition number two. My reviews are supposed to distract you from real life. They are an escape much like watching movies is an escape. In my definition, movies and other pop culture topics can be used to divert your attention from the more important matter at hand: real life. Constantly living in an escapist state is not healthy; but spending a couple of hours in a make believe world with make believe characters can be a nice vacation from the hum-drum of every day life. And spending a few minutes, while at work, reading my sarcastic thoughts on pop culture or what I thought about a movie can be a nice vacation from the average workaday life.

As you know, I misspelled "red herring" in my title. No, it wasn't because RedHerring.blogspot.com is already taken (even though it is). It's because I have red hair and I thought it was a witty play on the spelling. With that being said, I hope to distract you from life by reviewing it... and hopefully entertain you along the way.
