Bad Drivers...

I was told by one of my many subscribers that she is concerned about bad drivers in Columbia, SC and wanted to hear my thoughts on it. Ignoring the annoying specificity of that request, I do hate bad drivers... not just in Columbia. I lived in Los Angeles for a while and those Californians are the WORST!

You know when some idiot cuts you off, turns right from the left lane, or doesn’t wait their turn at a 4-way stop? Think about what kind of car that person is driving... a BMW, right? Yea. It’s like driving a Beemer gives them the right to drive like they own the road. My apologies to any of my readers that drive BMWs. Well, not really. But here’s a message:  spending more on gas doesn’t also purchase you a larger share of ownership of the road.

Sometimes they’re not in a Beemer though. But, and try not to be offended by this, a lot of times when I see a bad driver, they are a woman, old, Asian, or black. Before you go yelling about me being racist, sexist, or ageist (which is a real word)... I am not. I’m just telling you the facts. You can draw your own conclusions. I even saw an old, mixed race woman driving the other day... but she was alright.

Ultimately, if you want to be a good driver you just have to follow a few simple rules:

1.Don’t chill in the fast lane unless you’re going fast... they call it the “fast lane” for a reason

2.Rolling stops are cool

3.Learn the difference in YELLOW and RED because they aren’t the same

4.The term “speed limit” is commonly misconstrued as the fastest speed you can go when it really indicates the slowest acceptable speed on a particular roadway

5.Always give me the right of way
