So I watched Justin Timberlake host SNL last night and I couldn’t decide if I envy him, hate him, want to be him, or what, but I am definitely not indifferent. Take a second to think about what he can do. The man can dance and sing better than most (despite being white), he can apparently play the piano (and do an Elton John impression), and he can even act! I first saw him act in a little known film called Alpha Dog which is one of my guilty pleasure films. It’s so bad, but I really like it. I don’t, however, like JT in it. He’s horrible. In The Social Network, however, he is amazing as Napster creator, Sean Parker. He’s also pretty solid in a futuristic film called In Time and even in the raunchy comedy Bad Teacher. Most importantly, however, he’s married to Jessica Biel... seriously, it’s not fair.
My issue is that he is so talented which I’m sure he’s worked hard for but he also was born with it (you don’t make it as a Mouseketeer without being born with something special). Not just anyone can learn to dance or sing like that. I could take all the dance lessons in the world and still dance like William Hung (remember him?). Voice lessons probably couldn’t help me either. So he was just born with good looks and raw talent which allows him to have tons of success and get to marry a good looking Hollywood actress... and star in a movie with Mila Kunis... I’ll say it again: it’s not fair.
So I guess I kind of hate him on a certain level, but also admire the heck out of him... yea, and maybe want to be him just for a week or so. Now, before you go yelling about me having a bromantic man-crush on him, check yourself because he can’t compare to Joseph Gordon-Levitt... we would have such a great bromance... but that’s a topic for another post at another time.
That’s it for now...
